From a deep understanding of its clientele, Rolls-Royce is able to create collections that mirror their personas and tastes more closely than any other regular luxury automaker. The recently announced “Silver Ghost Collection” draws on the rich heritage of the Rolls-Royce motor car while the “Wraith Luminary Collection” resonates with the grandeur of luxury theatre. The Adamas Collection embodies the darkest expressions of luxury and boldly, for the first time in RR history, carries a Spirit of Ecstasy carefully formed from carbon fibre.

The Adamas Collection takes its name from the Greek word for diamond – infusing attributes such as untameable and invincible with the bejewelled direction led by the world’s most coveted automaker. However, true to the rebellious spirit of the Black Badge, the limited run of 40 Black Badge Wraiths and 30 Black Badge Dawns form the Adamas Collection in a sophisticatedly elegant yet defiant manner.

The symbiote bonded Spirit of Ecstasy is machined from 294 layers of aerospace grade carbon fibre, which takes 68 hours to produce with a technical weave angle of precisely 25 degrees. Below, black grille vanes are added to the already darkened grille surround of Black Badge, underlying the sinister, untameable nature of Adamas.

Torsten Müller-Ötvös, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce, commented, “Adamas is a Collection that fuses the extraordinary competence of our Bespoke craftspeople from the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, with the rebellious spirit of Black Badge. The result is a motor car for those who seek more than the definitive of engineered luxury conveyance. This is a motor car for the risk-taker who is not afraid to embrace a bold and progressive statement of true and modern luxury, in its darkest form.”

As another world’s first for the Black Badged Rolls, patrons are able to choose two-toned exteriors - between a hypnotic Aphrodite Red over Black and Morpheus Blue over Black. These hues provide a mesmerising iridescent deep colour transition for their Adamas that imprint their auras both on arrival and exit.

On the inside, the detailed clockface is mounted upon a carbon fibre back-plate and accompanied by 88 laboratory-grown diamonds that form the Black Badge infinity symbol.

Detailed intricacies such as Pearlescent effect leather, a Collection Car debut, mimics the two-tone waltz of the exterior hue. The interior further overloads the darker side of the finest luxury craftsmanship with a two-tone steering wheel and opulent black leather on the door panniers and transmission tunnel.

The captivating starlight headliner is now reinterpreted in the molecular structure of carbon as it becomes a diamond. Although available in either hue to match the exterior colour scheme, the 1,340 individual fibre optic lights incorporate graded shading, using varying tones of the chosen colour scheme.

As the finale, an illuminated tread plate reading “One of Thirty” or “One of Forty” depending on Dawn or Wraith model respectively further reminds the occupants of the exclusivity of its dark magnificence, before taking them into the cocoon of its precious abyss.
