Oneshift Car of the Year 2013 results
After weeks of intense voting, the results for Oneshift’s annual Car of the Year awards are now released. It was an arduous task picking this year’s winners with so many impressive models launched over the course of 2013. Our stringent voting process ensured that the winners of each category are the most deserving and free from any advertising influence. Winning the top prize as the overall Car of the Year was the Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. Mercedes-Benz also proved to be a popular marque among Oneshift members, clinching five categories in a row.
This year saw some surprising results. The Oneshift editorial team picked the Audi R8 to top the inaugural Best Sound category with its mighty V10 engine, but voters chose the McLaren 12C’s humble V8 instead. The 50% weightage of the voters, however, could not overturn the editorial team’s choice in another category: the Hatchback of the Year, in which the Volkswagen Golf Sport 1.4 TSI triumphed over the Mercedes-Benz A200.
With a slew of exciting new models expected to be released in 2014, next year’s competition is certain to get even better.
