Volvo Cars and The Artground have introduced the #VolvoExplorers space as part of The Artground's "Explore Arts Space - Many Alternative Possibilities." This collaboration highlights Volvo’s focus on safety and sustainability, offering hands-on activities for children. The space is designed to inspire young minds through interactive learning.

3-point seatbelt - invented by Volvo

#VolvoExplorers space highlights safety as a central theme, reflecting Volvo’s core values. Families can learn about the brand’s safety legacy, particularly the 3-point seatbelt invented in 1959. Interactive activities help teach children the importance of safety, encouraging them to adopt safe habits early in life.

Let children explore

#VolvoExplorers space offers a variety of activities focused on safety, sustainability, and creativity. The centerpiece is the Explorer-Sized Volvo car, modeled after the EX30 and parked at an EV charging station, where children can learn about the importance of seatbelts and safety features through hands-on exploration.

Key activities include Volvo’s “Safety Check,” where kids explore features like seatbelts, cameras and car seats, mirroring the safety assessments done on real Volvo cars. A sustainability-themed interactive magnetic road map wall allows children to explore green initiatives using wooden cutouts of Volvo’s EV models.

The Ideation Chalk Wall and Material Shelf encourage children to design their own cars with various materials used in eco-friendly vehicles. The experience is enhanced with role-playing, where children can wear aprons, helmets, and use tools to design, assemble and inspect their creations based on the full-scale Explorer-Sized Volvo car.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with The Artground to create a space where children can explore big ideas about safety and sustainability. At Volvo, we are constantly seeking to improve safety for children. With these hands-on experiences, we hope to instil safety habits in a fun and educational manner,” said Corinne Chua, Managing Director, Volvo at Wearnes. “Additionally, bringing to life our electrification journey through these interactive activities, we are excited for them to participate and learn more about building a greener future.”

“At The Artground, we believe that learning through play is essential for a child’s development, and we’re excited to introduce #VolvoExplorers as an enriching new element of our Explore Arts Space,” said Luanne Poh, Executive Director of The Artground. “This collaboration with Volvo is a wonderful opportunity to inspire children through creative arts and crafts while exploring important themes like sustainability and safety. By combining Volvo’s innovative approach with our hands-on arts programming, we’re creating a space where children can engage with these concepts in a fun and meaningful way”.
