“With the launch of the XC90 we made a clear statement of intent. We are now clearly and firmly in the game. With $11 USD billion of investment over the past five years we have not only reimagined what Volvo Cars can be – we are now delivering on our promise of a resurgent and relevant Volvo Cars brand,” said Håkan Samuelsson, President & CEO, Volvo Car Group.

Design

Voted Production Car Design of the Year 2015 from a list of 20 contenders, by a panel of 18 car designers from around the globe. The award, presented by Car Design News, represents the pinnacle of automotive design awards.

The All-New Volvo S90 is the second Volvo car built on the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) – Volvo’s advanced modular product platform that will underpin all new Volvo cars in the 90 and 60 Series.

Key design features include the iconic “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight design, the new grille and Volvo Iron Mark, and the expressive use of the Volvo word mark on the rear.

Engine Options

The All-New Volvo S90 comes in two petrol engine options, both of which provide an outstanding combination of performance and fuel-efficiency, and come with Volvo Cars’ 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The first is a T6 engine with supercharger and turbo with 320 bhp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm. The second is a T5 with 254 bhp and 350 Nm of torque.

Most Modern Control System in the Market

The new Sensus user interface is without doubt the most modern in-car control system in the market. It completely reinvents the way drivers operate their cars.

The traditional selection of buttons and controls has been replaced with a smooth, intuitive interaction between a large tablet-like touch screen, controls on the steering wheel and a capable voice-control system.

Sensus allows easy access to a wide selection of cloud-based applications. The outstanding in-car possibilities includes Internet radio, connected navigation, seamless music streaming, the ability to mirror and use Apple and Android devices in the touch screen display, a hotspot for using a tablet in the car – and much more.

The S90 T6 is currently retailing at $240,000.
