Updated Bentley Bentayga Makes Its Mark In Asia-Pacific

With an update that was announced earlier this year, Bentley follows through with the reveal of the refreshed Bentayga. Designed, engineered and handcrafted in Crewe, England, the extraordinary new Bentayga builds further on the outstanding success of its predecessor. Bentley’s SUV now sports a new design language, first seen in the third- generation Continental GT and all-new Flying Spur; and now all three Bentley models are now more visually connected.

With more than 20,000 Bentaygas handcrafted since the car’s launch – more than any of its competitors, the Bentayga’s success is proof that their decision in the initial stages to introduce an SUV to their vehicle range, was a very good one.

The Bentayga’s interior has been revised, and among the major changes are a new centre fascia and steering wheel, new door trims and all-new seats – now available with ventilation in the rear of the five-seat cabin option. Bentley has also increased rear legroom, with up to 100mm available, depending on configuration.

The Bentley ‘wing’ dashboard now features a 10.9” display, with edge-to-edge graphics, and is configurable to suit driver preferences.

For Singapore, the proven 4.0-litre, 32-valve dual twin- scroll turbocharged V8 petrol engine has been retained, delivering 542bhp and 770Nm, and is matched with an eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic gearbox. The British luxo-beast hits a top speed of 290km/h and clocks 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds.

The Bentayga boasts a range of 639 km, with CO2 emissions of 302 g/km. Even with its weight, it is able to deliver efficiency of 13.3l/100km. Part of this is due to the engine being able to deactivate one bank of cylinders, essentially making it operate like a 4-cylinder car when on cruise.

“The new Bentayga has been reimagined to offer the ultimate in power, luxury and usability,” said Calista Tambajong, Head of Marketing – Asia Pacific. “As these unprecedented times have given rise to changing media consumption habits, we are inspiring our customers and Bentley enthusiasts to embark on a virtual adventure. Each individual may be drawn to different aspects of the new Bentayga; through the interactive virtual experience, we are imparting freedom to our audience to choose the way they explore the new Bentayga.”

The new Bentayga retails from $889,000 before COE and options.
