Toyota to cease production of FJ Crusier

Toyota will pull the plug on their wildly popular FJ Cruiser come August. The car, which is a modern incarnation of the legendary FJ40 Land Cruiser, was introduced in 2006. Sales were good initially, but the novelty of owning a retro off-roader eventually wore off, resulting in a significant drop it sales, so much so, that the Japanese automaker pulled the plug on it from the American markets post 2014. However, as sales figures have remained healthy in countries like Australia, the car is still being offered for sale. However, all good things must come to an end, and the FJ is no exception. Toyota will officially kill off the FJ Cruiser in August.  As per cars like the Land Rover Defender, and the Mercedes G wagen, the FJ Cruiser is an oddball in the world made up of mild-manner, and luxurious crossovers. Their unique and rugged characters certainly makes them stand out from the crowd, which helps them hold their value.
