Toyota shows off GT86 Shooting Brake Concept

Want a GT86 but wish you could lug more things around? Well, with the GT86 Shooting Brake Concept, now you can! Or rather, IF they make it, you can. The GT86 Shooting Brake Concept is Toyota’s stab at creating a car that optimally balances the practical and sporting sides of an automobile. The Concept is mechanically identical to the standard coupe, and is fully functional. The car was a side project done by Toyota Australia. The ¼ scale model was so impressive, that the chief engineer of the GT86 project, Tetsuya Tada, hand-picked craftsmen in Japan to build the full scale car. The car would be perfect for carrying carrying surfboards and other unwieldy sports equipment, whilst still being a spirited drive. However, Toyota has no plans to bring it into production at the moment, saying that it is nothing more than a design study, at least for now anyways.
