Toyota Dreams The Dream With Custom Specials at SEMA
Every day since the start of the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Veas this week, Toyota models have been transformed into petrol head dreams. This year the title of "The Hottest Compact Ride" goes to the Toyota GT86, which has retained the title it earned last year on its debut. The vote was made by industry experts at the show. The judges had plenty to see as four specially kitted and tuned coupes were on display, ranging from a racing prototype with more than 750bhp to a music-themed version designed by star DJ and producer Steve Aoki.
SEMA also marks the peak of Toyota’s Dream Build Challenge, in which US sports stars worked with tuning and design teams to create their ideal adventure vehicle. The winner, announced by US Top Gear host Rutledge Wood, is the Let’s Go Moto Tundra, a reworking of the giant Toyota truck that is equipped with a self-contained motocross pit lane, complete with a power washer, data monitors, spare part racks and a helmet dryer
Proving how any Toyota has the potential for a high-impact makeover, the challenge entries also included an ultra-rugged interpretation of the Corolla saloon, a rally-themed Camry and a 4Runner SUV designed for freestyle skiers.
