To mark the 50th anniversary of one of the most influential red wines, Tignanello, Maserati has created a custom Fuoriserie version of its latest EV, the GranCabrio Folgore, for Marchesi Antinori. It will be auctioned on 14 July at the Festival Napa Valley’s Arts for All Gala in California, a major arts charity event in the US.

How did this collaboration come about?

For its 110th anniversary, Maserati has partnered with Marchesi Antinori, a prestigious Italian winery with a 600-year family history. Both brands share a solid identity, innovative spirit and a respect for tradition. The collaboration highlights their common values and dedication to excellence, with Marchesi Antinori's wine production, including Tignanello, reflecting the passion and forward-thinking nature of Maserati.

What inspired the creation of the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello?

The car's inspiration is drawn from the vineyard, symbolising roots and territory. Both Maserati and Marchesi Antinori value their local origins. The GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello incorporates colours, innovative materials and artisan details, celebrating the Tignanello vineyard and its 50-year heritage.

It’s quite a special colour…

The GranCabrio Folgore Tignanello boasts a custom body colour called Terra di Tignanello, a chestnut shade inspired by the vineyard's soil, with a coppery burgundy reminiscent of Tignanello's barrels. The paint has a rich, metallic tint reflecting the estate's atmosphere. Rims are matte black, the calipers are gloss black and the emblems are copper with a glossy copper Maserati logo on a gloss background.

The magic continues inside

The seats feature leather with a silver and burgundy ribbed weave made of Vegea, a vineyard-derived fabric, inspired by the pattern of Tignanello's vine rows. Dark briar wood with laser-etched details reminiscent of oak barrels adorns the panels. The headrests feature elegant embroidery combining the Maserati Trident and Tignanello's sun symbol, also lasered on the central tunnel with the dates 1971-2021, marking Tignanello's 50-year history.
