This Is Das Treffen 8, Southeast Asia’s Largest Gathering of Porsches
All seven 911 Carrera GTS – 30 Years Porsche Thailand Edition cars showcased to the public for the first time.
IMPACT Lakeside in Muang Thong Thani, Thailand, was the venue for the eighth edition of Das Treffen, the largest gathering of Porsche sports cars in Asia. Named 'Feiertag,' the event featured over 600 classic and modern Porsche sports cars marking several milestones. These included the conclusion of the SEA region's 75th anniversary of Porsche sports cars, the 60th anniversary of the iconic 911, and the culmination of Porsche Thailand's 30th-anniversary celebrations in the country.
So many activities, but what’s the highlight?
The focal point of Das Treffen 8 for Porsche Thailand was the "Dreams in Colours" area, showcasing a special display of all seven limited-edition 911 Carrera GTS – 30 Years Porsche Thailand Edition sports cars. These exclusive vehicles draw inspiration from the colours associated with each day of the week in Thai culture. Collectors have the option to choose from seven iconic Paint to Sample (PTS) colors, each corresponding to a day of the week: Signalyellow for Monday (Yellow), Rubystar for Tuesday (Pink), Signalgreen for Wednesday (Green), Pastelorange for Thursday (Orange), Rivierablue for Friday (Blue), Ultraviolet for Saturday (Purple) and Firered for Sunday (Red).
There must be other stunning displays…
Porsche Thailand also showcased additional highlights during the event, including a 992-generation 911 GT3 equipped with performance parts from Manthey Racing and a dedicated section featuring AAS Motorsport. And that Carrera GT lurking in a corner…
Did you say Carrera GT?
Yes, and it seems other creations were inspired by it too. The 718 Spyder ‘000’ or ‘Triple Zero,’ is a curated suite of options by Pete Stout and Alex Palevsky, the creative minds behind 000 Magazine. Described as an immersive reading experience for discerning Porsche enthusiasts, 000 Magazine collaborated with Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur to create the Spyder ‘000.’ Inspired by the Carrera GT, this model features specific exterior and interior design elements, offering a distinctive look ideal for unfiltered, open-top winding road driving.
Peter Rohwer, Managing Director of Porsche Thailand, commented, "Throughout this marvellous 30th anniversary year, we are proud to have shown that Porsche has found its way into the hearts of the Thai people, and likewise, Thailand has found its way into the heart of Porsche. The celebrations wrap up at the largest-ever Das Treffen – a perfect reflection of the growing community of Porsche fans here in Thailand."
Yannick Ott, Director Marketing Porsche Asia Pacific said, "Das Treffen always like a warm family reunion, one that we look forward to the entire year. It unites the community of enthusiasts from all over Southeast Asia and beyond; year after year, it is proof that passion for the Porsche brand knows no borders.“
"Therefore, even as we celebrate 75 years of Porsche sports cars, we put our cars in the spotlight - like the 60 years of our icon, the 911 – but we also tell the stories of the people and connections forged with the passion of Porsche."
