In November, Mitsubishi confirmed that there would not be a replacement for the Evolution X, and the current (and last) Evolution’s departure will be celebrated with a special edition model. The Evo X Final Concept will be publicly revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon, set to be on 9 to 11 January 2015.

On the outside, the Evo features a gloss black roof and spoiler, matte black paint, and some minor chrome details. In addition, the car also receives 19-inch forged aluminium rims from RAYS and a HKS sports suspension.

Under the hood however, is where the biggest differences are. The 2.0-litre unit has a larger turbocharger fitted from HKS, a new intake, ECU, and exhausts systems. With the host of upgrades, the engine now pushes out a whopping 480hp.

No word has been mentioned whether the car will be released for non-Japanese markets.
