Since its first generation 2003, Mercedes-Benz contributed to a new vehicle segment, and its aim was to build a car that combines both elegance and dynamism. The trendsetting CLS 4-door coupé exhibits sportiness, comfort and practicality.

The third generation Mercedes-Benz 4-door coupé carries a new design language that stretches from the front to the rear of the car. The latest slick headlights and its forward-slanting front-end resonates a shark-nose.

Mercedes-Benz has tweaked its rear end of the CLS by introducing narrow-slip tail lamps which falls in-line with their coupe design language. Even though the C-pillar does not express a coupé-like silhouette, its well-crafted narrow window-line and frameless windows balances out the proportions of this gorgeous saloon.

Immersing yourself into the driver’s seat, you will find a familiar dashboard and centre console, very similar to the Mercedes-Benz E-Class. In differentiating the CLS, Mercedes-Benz shows-off one of their special features - the ambient lighting and illuminated turbine air-vents, which change colour in relation to the set cabin temperature.

For an added special touch, the “Edition 1” version adopts the COPPER ART interior concept to heighten the exclusivity of the Mercedes-Benz CLS. The “Edition 1” features an IWC analogue clock, natural grain black ash wood trim, and black pearl Nappa leather seats.

Featured at the launch were two cars. The higher of the two is the CLS450 4Matic, which gets a 3.0-litre 6/in-line bi-turbocharged engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and driving all four wheels. The mighty “Merc” punches out 367 horsepower and 500Nm of torque... and hits 100km/h in just 4.8 seconds. It also features an inbuilt EQ boost system with an integrated starter generator that produces an additional 22 horses, which Mercedes-Benz also claims helps to save fuel.

The CLS350 represents the point of entry to the range. Powered by a 2.0-litre 4/inline turbocharged engine, mated to a 9-speed automatic which belts out an impressive 299 horsepower, 400Nm of torque, and delivers a century sprint of 6 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz Singapore also announced that the high-powered AMG CLS53 4Matic+ is expected to make landfall by the end of 2018.
