Honda has built the new Civic on a sportier, fun-to-drive new chassis, and now features a more powerful and fuel-efficient powertrain. In redesigning their compact sedan, stylists and engineers revisited timeless design concepts of past Civics, focusing on Honda’s essential and human-centred “Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum” (M/M) philosophy, where the purpose of technology and design is to serve the needs of the driver and passengers. The styling manifests timeless design concepts in a fresh and exhilarating new way.

Taking a leaf from the previous generation Civic with its low Centre of Gravity (CG) package, that includes a low overall height and low hip point, the 11th generation Civic features an airy greenhouse with exceptional outward visibility, thanks to a low horizontal beltline.

On the inside, buyers can expect a bolder approach in interior design, with a neat honeycomb mesh accent, which serves not only as a design element, but also conceals the visually busy air vents. A 9” full-HD Display Audio touchscreen with Android Auto wireless Apple Carplay are included, and so is a wireless charger for smartphones. The cockpit is equipped with a 7” addall-digital LCD instrument display.

A 1.5 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, equipped with Honda’s signature VTEC powers the new Civic, delivering 127bhp, and 180Nm (happily keeping it in the traditionally more affordable Category A COE segment). The front-driven Civic also gets a CVT, like in its previous iteration.

Safety-wise, the new Civic is equipped with the brand’s Honda Sensing System as standard, which itself has received a few upgrades, such as Lead Car Departure Notification, and Auto High Beam. The new Civic comes with an advanced new version of Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure with both improved occupant and pedestrian collision protection. The new, more rigid body structure contributes to further advances in Civic’s driving refinement, ride quality and sporty handling.

The 11th generation Honda Civic is available in seven colours, and will come with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty, offered by Kah Motor.
