Skyworth K SUV Is Singapore’s Newest EV

Have you heard of Skyworth?

The company is a pioneering Chinese new energy vehicle manufacturer, with 12 years of experience and EU product certification. They offer a diverse range of models in China, catering to both commercial and passenger vehicle markets and are currently sold in 48 countries.

When did Skyworth debut?

It made its debut at the China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou in April 2023, with the Skyworth K 620 Exclusive Edition being the sole exhibit. It never looked back - this local debut marked the start of a rapid overseas expansion. In Singapore, Skyworth is distributed by Alpine Automobiles Pte Ltd, a wing of Alpine United that also distributes Opel vehicles.

Skyworth K is a spacious EV SUV

The brand claims that the K will offer “unparalleled comfort and versatility for daily driving”. It features a generous cabin for one that measures 4,720mm in length (BMW X3 territory) and 467 litres of boot space (1,141 litres with seats folded).

Is the Skyworth K powerful?

It manages 150kW and 320Nm with a 86kWh battery pack. Century sprints are dispatched in 9.6 seconds, and goes on to a top speed of 150km/h. Power is sent to the front wheels.

Is it efficient?

Its energy consumption is rated at 19.8kWh/100km. Maximum driving range for this 1,930kg SUV (unladen weight) is 489km (WLTP). Charge time from 20% to 70% for DC (100kW) takes 45 minutes, while AC (11KW) requires 5 and a half hours.

Is it well equipped?

You’ll get 19-inch rims, LED DRLs and panoramic sunroof. Inside, there’s front electric seats, a 12.3-inch instrument display and 12.8 central touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Is it safe?

A host of safety bits will come as standard, including 6 airbags, adaptive cruise control, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, auto emergency braking and forward collision warning.
