Singapore Motorshow 2017 concluded with successful visitor turnout

Singapore may be a tiny red dot on the world's map. But when it comes to anything automobile, "mega" will be an apt term to describe the country. And this is true for the Singapore Motorshow 2017, which has recently concluded a successful run with a massive turnout of more than 47,000 visitors. Held at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre between 12 to 15 January, visitors were treated to a display of more than 200 cars from 28 brands. Organised by the Motor Traders Association of Singapore (MTA), the Singapore Motorshow 2017 unveiled over 20 new car models. And what will the annual four-wheeled expo be without the Subaru-sponsored Russ Swift, the man who graced every single Singapore Motorshow  along with his breath-taking stunt-driving performance. For the first time, the Singapore Motorshow 2017 featured a suite of virtual reality (VR) experiences for the visitors.  Glenn Tan, who presides as the President of the Motor Traders Association of Singapore, said: "We’re encouraged to see a good crowd considering that many have said that this will be a challenging year for Singapore’s economy. It’s great to see the brands working together to present an iconic automotive event with new activities and launches that the people of Singapore can look forward to each year.” He added: "Despite smaller numbers this year on the weekdays, we had very solid turnouts on both Saturday and Sunday. Crowds packed our popular activities with sold-out shows at Russ Swift’s stunt performances, live radio shows, contests and lucky draws. We’re glad to see families and car lovers having a good time throughout the 4-day event and we’re committed to keep this momentum going for next year’s event.” The latest car models were not the only draw at the Singapore Motorshow 2017. Visitors had a chance to meet Mediacorp artistes and celebrity DJs during the live radio shows at the event. The Bro Code from 987FM, Jean Danker and Tim Oh from Class 95FM, Kenneth Kong and Wendy Xiao Ying from Love 97.2FM and Cai Wei Bin and Jeff Goh from Y.E.S. 93.3FM were amongst the list of celebrities at the show. Jessie Sng, who heads the Mediacorp’s Women, Men and Parenting segments, told the press: “Mediacorp is proud to be the Official Media Partner of the Singapore Motorshow for the third year in a row. By working closely together with MTA, we’ve been able to deliver a successful event that caters to the audience’s preferences.” The lucky ones also walked away from the event with fantastic prizes. The grand prize was a brand new 2017 Subaru Impreza. Visitors also received giveaways from AIG Singapore and won prizes from Mediacorp. Courtesy of Shell, visitors also enjoyed experiential activities about Shell’s technology and innovation in fuels and lubricants. Through special VR experiences, a trick-eye photo corner and interactive games presented by Shell Helix PurePlus and V-Power Nitro+, visitors were were treat to the the latest innovations in fuel technology.  The official sponsors for the Singapore Motorshow 2017 are AIG (Official Insurer), HL Bank (Official Bank), MediaCorp (Official Media Partner) and Shell Singapore (Official Automotive Lubricants & Fuels Supplier). The expo is also supported by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc (JAMA). For more information on the Singapore Motorshow, visit www.motorshow.com.sg.
