SG: Woman on motorised bicycle killed by cement truck

51 year old Massarimah Masjum was riding pillon on her husband’s motorised bicycle, travelling along Sime Road, when she fell off the bicycle and was struck by the cement truck. She was crushed under the rear wheels of the Cement truck and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. According to the driver, a man in his 50s, he left enough room for the bicycle after he overtook them after Sime Road. The cement truck driver has been arrested while investigations still ongoing.

Although it is unclear whether the couple were wearing helmets at the point of the crash, the husband, an unemployed 52 year old, was seen carrying one. He suffered abrasions that did not require hospitalisation.
