SG: VW Singapore introduces a limited edition model to celebrate

The Volkswagen Golf is the best-selling European car of all time, with more than 30 million units being delivered to customers up to today. To commemorate the car’s success over the last four decades, Volkswagen is celebrating the Golf’s 40th birthday here in Singapore with a limited edition model. The Golf 40th Anniversary Edition has all the strengths of the multi-award-winning, seventh-generation Golf, plus several exclusive features.

The exterior sets it apart by its ‘Platinum Grey’ mirror caps, rear diffuser and roof spoiler. Dark-tinted LED tail lamps, lowered sports suspension and 18-inch ‘Preston’ alloy wheels complete the exterior package. ‘Marrakesh’ brown leather upholstery, front seat head restraints with debossed ‘40’ emblems and stainless steel pedal caps reinforce the Golf 40th Anniversary Edition’s limited edition status.

Further adding to the multitude of driver assistance systems that’s standard in the Golf is the ‘Rear Assist’ reversing camera, which is hidden behind the Volkswagen logo on the tailgate. The images from the camera are displayed together with guidance lines on the 8-inch capacitive touch screen of the ‘Discover Pro’ radio-navigation system.

Powered by a 1.4-litre TSI engine coupled to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox, the 122 PS Golf 40th Anniversary Edition delivers outstanding performance together with a class-leading fuel consumption figure of just 5.0 L/100km.

The list price of the car is $136,300 with COE. It will be officially launched on 1 November 2014.
