SG: The BMW M235i Coupe Embodies Intense Driving Pleasure

BMW Asia is set to unveil the BMW M235 Coupe on Friday, February 28 2014.  BMW M235i Coupé is a high-performance model in the premium compact segment, propelled by the most powerful petrol engine developed so far for a BMW M Performance Automobile vehicle. Powered by a six-cylinder in-line engine with BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo technology, the BMW M235i Coupé comes with a maximum power output of 326hp and maximum torque of 450Nm between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm gives the engine its imposing pulling power with the ability to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.

The new ‘2’ badge designation offers a clear distinction between the BMW M235i Coupé and the BMW M135i Hatch. Further, the vehicle concept of the BMW M235i Coupé offers handling properties that are defined by impressive agility and precision, which is the result of extensive modifications made by BMW M GmbH engineers to the components involved in maximizing the car’s sporting ability.

“The BMW M235i Coupé is the newest addition to the BMW M Performance Automobiles range that was first introduced in Singapore in late 2012. This new range of cars is positioned between the regular BMW vehicles and the motorsport-inspired BMW M cars, and is targeted at sporty drivers with the preference for more driving pleasure without compromising on everyday usability,” said Mr. Sethipong Anutarasoti, Corporate Affairs Director of BMW Group Asia.

Features of the exterior design are BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line trim, exterior mirror caps in Ferric Grey, particularly striking contoured side skirts and a rear apron whose lower section is finished in Dark Shadow metallic paintwork and also incorporates the exhaust system’s twin tailpipes. The package of aerodynamically optimized body features is rounded off by the standard-specification gurney on the boot lid.

The interior offers sports seats for the driver and front passenger, an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, a BMW Individual roof liner in Anthracite, Aluminium Hexagon interior trim with accent strips in matt Estoril Blue or high-gloss black, handbrake lever gaiter, a special instrument cluster with digital model designation together with red dials and numbers for the speedometer and rev counter, as well as variable use of colour for the interior lighting and blue detailing for the car key.

The BMW M235i Coupé comes standard with an extensive standard specification and wide range of optional extras. The standard equipment list now includes, Sport seats for driver and front passenger, Sport automatic transmission, variable sport steering, Adaptive M suspension, M Sport brake, 18-inch M light alloy wheels, Park Distance Control (front and rear), Harman/Kardon HiFi loudspeaker system and Navigation system Professional.

The BMW M235i Coupé is available for viewing at Munich Automobiles’ showroom.
