SG: SBS Transit made more profit in 2014

As a result of increased ridership and increased train and bus fares, SBS Transit has posted a 27.8 % rise in the net profit for 2014. The firm said on Tuesday (10th of February) that it earned S$14.3 million in 2014, which is about S$3 million up from the S$11.2 million of 2013. Total revenue has increased as well, and the figures for 2014 put it at S$951 million. The S$951 million is made up of the S$754 million from their bus services, and the S$197 generated by their rail segment. Daily ridership hit 2.8 million passenger trips for 2014. However, without assistance from advertisements and from rental, the core bus operation still made a loss of S$13.5 million in 2014.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
