SG: More MRT Stations to be upgraded

More MRT stations will be upgraded as part of the overall rejuvenation of the rail network. Improvements that are currently being considered include making use of existing void space, adjusting and alterating station furniture to create more platform space, the construction of new lifts and weatherproof facilities for enhanced accessibility. These include new sheltered link bridges that connect directly to HDB Blocks and key facilities, not dissimilar to the ones already installed at Clementi and Queenstown MRT stations. The LTA is also considering adding several stations to the planned Jurong Region Line. It will most probably cut through West Coast through a West Coast Extension, and connect to the Circle Line to improve rail connectivity between the western parts of Singapore and the city centre.
