SG: Man arrested for robbing cabbies

42 year old Ng Kian Yong was arrested, and was charged in court yesterday for robbing four taxi drivers in the span of 3 days last week. Ng, who was jobless at the time of his offence, flagged the cabs down around Geylang, Sims Avenue or Sims Drive, before asking the cabbies to drive him to a location nearby. Once the there, Ng took out a 20 cm long chopper to the cabbie’s necks and forced them to hand over all their cash. He then fled on foot. If found guilty, Ng may face a jail term of up to 14 years, with 12 strokes of the cane. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
