SG: Man arrested for carjacking

A 52 year old man has been arrested after he was caught carjacking. The owner of the vehicle saw the man standing beside the driver side area of her car after she loaded the car up with her luggage. The incident, which occurred on the 16th of July at around 7:45 am at a multi-storey carpark at Boon Keng Road, saw the man confront the victim with a penknife, before speeding off with the car. He then abandoned the car along Upper Boon Keng Road. The man was arrested in the vicinity of Geylang a day later at around 12:40 pm. If found guilty, the man is liable for a 14 year jail sentence and 12 strokes of the cane.
