SG: LTA to extend Free Pre-Peak Travel scheme

The Free Pre-Peak Travel scheme was introduced in 2013 in a bid to reduce congestion on the rail network during the morning rush hours. It has proven to be so effective at doing just that, that the LTA has announced the scheme will be extended for another year to the 30th of June in 2016. Commuters who end their journey before 7.45am on weekdays at 18 designated MRT stations in the city area will continue to enjoy free travel on the rail network. Commuters who exit at these stations between 7.45am and 8am will also continue to enjoy a discount of up to 50 cents off their train fare. Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
