SG: Engineer jailed and fined for rash act

Nathan Adrian Tallack, a Network Engineer from Australia, has been sentenced to a day in jail for using criminal force on Mr. Lee Yao Rong. Nathan was driving a car along Chai Chee Drive on the 1st of April, when he nearly collided with Mr. Lee on a motorcycle. He believed Nathan gave him a rude hand gesture, and out of rage, made a U-turn to catch up with and confront Nathan. He then knocked on the passenger window and requested Nathan to lower it. Both argued for a while, before Nathan pushed Lee, who happened to be sitting on the motorcycle at the time, over. They eventually started brawling it out after Mr lee stood up and hit Nathan, who pinned him down. Property Officer Mohamad Sikandar Saraju, who was one of the two witnesses, recorded the entire episode with his mobile phone, before breaking up the fight and calling the police. Both men sustained minor injuries. Nathan could have jailed for 3 months and given a $1500 fine for the use of criminal force, and the maximum penalty for disturbing the public peace is a one year jail sentence and a fine of not less than $5000.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
