SG: Driverless vehicles to trialed at Chinese Garden

Golf Buggies outfitted with $30,000 worth of equipment will form Singapore's first driverless vehicles for the public. The buggies will go on trial at the Chinese and Japanese Gardens in Jurong. Each vehicle has been programmed to travel a certain route and avoid collisions. So far, they are only mapped to travel on the footpaths at the 2 gardens, totalling an area of about 26 football pitches, although more routes will eventually be mapped. Rides on the buggies are free of charge, in hope that people will more readily accept a driverless vehicle.  Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
