SG: Driver who charged through checkpoint arrested

A Mercedes Benz W124 E class was caught on CCTV cameras charging through Woodlands Checkpoint. The video, which was then leaked onto various social media sites has since gone viral. The driver of the Singapore-registered Mercedes was arrested eventually, thanks to the help of the public as a result of the increased exposure. The 65 year old man was arrested and the car recovered at 8:30pm, almost 4 and a half hours after the incident occurred. A police officer was hurt in the incident. Shortly after the accident occurred, information of the car was sent to cabs islandwide in a bid to help more effectively track down the car.
