SG: Clementi Road to be widened.
Currently, Clementi Road spans 3 lanes in both the westbound and eastbound routes. That is set to change however, as LTA intends to call for a tender soon, which would see the addition of a fourth lane on both directions. The LTA believes that the 4th lane would aid to ease traffic flow when Clementi Town develops further. Clementi Road is one of the major roads which link Clementi Town to the other expressways. The project, set to start on the 1st quarter of 2014, will be scheduled for completion by 2017. For the project, NUS had to give up 2 grass verges, although the government assures that the rest of the campus would remain intact.
