SG: BSEP improves bus services

SG: BSEP improves bus services

Under the Government’s ongoing BSEP scheme, load has been taken off SMRT Service 190 after a new service, 972, was introduced. The new route runs from Bukit Panjang to Orchard Road, which is similar to the route 190 plies. SMRT has also beefed up the 190 fleet by adding more buses, in a bid to reduce crowding during peak periods. The high demand for the 2 services stem from the fact that there is no MRT station in the Bukit Panjang area.  They are currently connected to the closest MRT station, Choa Chu Kang MRT, by the Bukit Panjang LRT. The new Bukit Panjang MRT station will only commence operations in the first quarter of 2016.
