SG: BMW 320d and BMW 520d Debut in Singapore

BMW Asia has introduced the BMW 320d Sport, BMW 520d and 520d Luxury in Singapore for the first time.  Their arrival is set to complement the recent launch of the BMW X5 xDrive30d, and expands the BMW Advanced Diesel product portfolio to provide customers with more choices to suit their needs.  BMW Advanced Diesel engines featuring BMW TwinPower Turbo technology are capable of generating high levels of torque that has won over even performance-minded drivers. The high efficiency of BMW Advanced Diesel engines also ensures low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

The arrival of the BMW 320d Sport, BMW 520d and 520d Luxury serve as a second-phase Advanced Diesel model roll-out since the launch of the top-of-the-line 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel engine with Tri-turbo charging, via the high-performance BMW X6 M50d and BMW X5 M50d in late 2012.

The BMW 320d Sport features the BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine and has been honed for even greater fuel economy and lower emissions with no reduction in power output. With unchanged maximum power of 184 hp at 4,000 rpm, and powerful torque of 380 Nm on stream between 1,750 and 2,750 rpm, the new BMW 320d Sport is an extremely dynamic performer and delivers everything one would expect of a compact sports sedan. This includes a zero to 100 km/h sprint time of just 7.4 seconds with a top speed of 230km/h. Fitted with the new eight-speed automatic transmission, it has an impressive average fuel consumption of just 4.5 litres/100 km (per EU test cycle) and a low CO2 emissions of 118 g/km (per EU test cycle), which is one of the lowest CO2 output in its segment in Singapore.

In the new diesel engine that powers the BMW 520d Sedan, it consists of a turbocharger with variable inlet geometry and common rail direct injection with solenoid valve injectors. The 2.0 litre engine develops a maximum output of 184 hp, generates a peak torque of 380 Nm and accelerates the 520d Sedan from 0 to 100km/h in 7.9 seconds. The four-cylinder unit burns an average 4.7 liters/100km in the EU test cycle.

The BMW 320d Sport (S$219,800) and BMW 520d (S$257,800) and BMW 520d Luxury (S$264,800) will be retailing at Performance Motors Ltd.
