SG: 4 new gantries on AYE

SG: 4 new gantries on AYE

4 new ERP gantries installed along the AYE will commence operations in the middle of 2014. The gantries, which will be active during the morning and evening peak hours, will help manage traffic congestion between Jurong Town Hall Road and North Buona Vista Road. Currently, the average speed of traffic during the rush hour on the stretch is about 45-65 km/h, and can dip to about 35 km/h. It is hoped that the gantries, built on AYE (City-bound) before the Clementi Avenue 6 exit, with 2 supplementary gantries on slips roads leading to the expressway, will help increase the average speed and control traffic flow on the AYE.
