Say Hello To The 850Hp Pagani Imola Roadster
Production limited to just eight specimens homologated for road use globally.
What is a Pagani Imola Roadster?
The newest limited edition from Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division is a groundbreaking creation featuring an exclusive design and cutting-edge technical specifications. With eight homologated specimens for global road use, this model fearlessly embraces the track. It stands out as the brand's most high-performing open-top creation to date.
Lorenzo Kerkoc – Head of Pagani Grandi Complicazioni, states: “Initially, we wanted to create an open-top twin of the Imola Coupé, the vehicle introduced in 2020 which paid homage to the legendary racetrack. Then we took another approach: we combined the Huayra Roadster BC’s sophisticated technology with the design and aerodynamic principles of the Huayra R track car. The result is the much more advanced and complex Imola Roadster”.
It looks purposefully fearsome…
To accommodate the more powerful engine (a V12 twin turbo that whips out 850hp / 635kW and 1,110Nm), the Imola Roadster underwent meticulous modifications to enhance cooling. The team focused on optimising radiator functionality and interior air flows to improve reliability and performance. Two key features were introduced for better cooling: the enlargement of front air intakes and the addition of a dual outlet system for warm air. The outlets are strategically placed, with one concealed in the wheel arch and the other on the side of the bumper.
Tell me more about the Pagani Imola Roadster’s drivetrain
The Imola Roadster's performance is attributed to the evolution of the 5,980 cc Pagani V12, exclusively designed by Mercedes-Benz AMG for Pagani, delivering 850H and 1,100Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the road via Xtrac - a seven-speed transversal sequential gearbox.
It weighs next to nothing in today’s world
Weight is a critical factor for both efficiency and driving pleasure in the Imola Roadster. Through the application of structural principles and innovative composite materials, it weighs in at just 1,260kg (almost half that of a Taycan Turbo). It features an innovative paint system called Acquarello Light, which trims 5kg from the overall weight while maintaining the colour's intensity, depth and sheen.
Physics-defying cornering, guaranteed
The Imola Roadster stands out with its adaptable “four-flap” system, responding independently to driving dynamics for pitch control during braking and roll compensation while cornering. The suspension is a source of pride for Pagani, featuring an independent double wishbone made from aluminum alloy, helical springs and electronically controlled shock absorbers. The advanced suspension electronics, equipped with powerful microprocessors, effectively mitigate dive, squat and roll.
What is Pagani’s Grandi Complicazioni division about?
This division specialises in crafting ultra-limited series vehicles, referred to as Grand Complications, characterised by intricate technologies that only a select few master artisans can produce. These vehicles, produced in extremely limited quantities, offer extensive customisation options, including colours, finishes, materials and shapes. The collaboration between clients and artisans ensures that each vehicle is a bespoke creation, fulfilling every individual desire.
