Renault Unveils a Mid-Sized Twin Run Concept Car
Renault recently revealed a Mid-sized Twin'Run concept car at the 71st Monaco Grand Prix. Set to pay homage to the R5 Turbo and Clio V6, it cultivates Renault's sporting spirit and automotive passion. With dimensions of 144 inches long, 68 inches wide and 58 inches tall, the Twin'Run is slightly larger than the Twingo city car. As for the exterior, it resembles the first generation of the Renault 5 meaning Renault is pushing to take the lion's share of the retro-styled car arena which BMW's MINI and the FIAT 500 are currently dominating.
The Twin'Run runs from 0 to 62mph in 4.5 seconds to a top speed of 155mph. While under the hood is a 3.5 liter V6 engine with 320 hp and 280 lb-ft torque to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gear box.
In the interior it features Sparco bucket seats and a functional dashboard with a 5.5 inch LCD screen positioned just behind the steering wheel, that serves as a speedometer and a tachometer in addition to providing important information on the vehicle's engine status. The body is made from composite and carbon fiber, which lowers its weight by about 2,000 pounds. The design input was from Tork Engineering (France) while a tubular chassis was engineered jointly by Renault and Poclain Véhicules.
