“Our support for women’s tennis is an extension of our efforts to foster strong bonds with our customers, many of whom are tennis players themselves, or have a love for the sport. Spectators and admirers of both Porsche and tennis are able to witness how two very different brands share the same passion for excellence, both on and off the court. For Porsche, the WTA Finals serves as an important platform to build excitement and hype around new model launches such as the all-new Cayenne, which we launched in June this year. To this end, we had the pleasure of hosting Angelique Kerber at Porsche Centre Singapore for her photoshoot with the all-new Cayenne. On behalf of everyone at Porsche Centre Singapore, I’d like to wish Angelique the very best of luck at this year’s tournament.” said Francis Lee, Managing Director of Stuttgart Auto.

To further reinforce the two brands’ mutual commitment to performance, Porsche is showcasing their all-new Cayenne at the Racquet Club, the official hospitality programme of the WTA Finals. In addition, the Porsche 718 Boxster GTS is on display at centre court, which symbolises the long-standing partnership between the WTA Finals and Porsche in Singapore.

Henrik Dreier, General Manager of Singapore, Porsche Asia Pacific said, “Over the course of the four-year partnership in Singapore, Porsche and WTA Finals Singapore have created a natural and compelling synergy. This collaboration is built on the shared values and attributes of uncompromising precision, quality, high-calibre performance and excellence – all qualities which today have become synonymous with both brands. Thanks to our sponsorship of the WTA Finals Singapore, Porsche in Singapore receives greater visibility and value for our brand, alongside the growth of WTA as a major international sporting event.”

The “Porsche Race to Singapore” is the official qualification ranking tournament that determines the season’s eight most successful players for the WTA Finals, and they are currently playing at the Singapore Sports Hub from 21st to 28th October.

World number 1, Simona Halep led the qualification for the WTA Finals in Singapore for the second time after 2017. On Saturday, 20 October 2018, she was presented with the winner’s prize, a Porsche 718 Boxster GTS with 365bhp.

Simona is honoured to finish first in the “Race to Singapore” event, she added that 2018 was her most successful season so far. After clinching 4 Grand Slam titles, she hopes to carry this good form over into the new season.

“We’d like to congratulate Simona Halep on winning the “Porsche Race to Singapore” for the second time,” said Detlev von Platen, member of the Executive Board responsible for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “With the 2018 Porsche Race to Singapore, we have once again succeeded in being visible throughout the year in international women’s tennis. It is a strong sign of our bond and close cooperation with the WTA as well as the ideal complement to our national tennis activities.”
