Porsche Singapore raises $60,000 for charity

The Porsche Charity Rally was held once again on the 25th of October this year. Opened to Porsche automobile owners, the event flagged-off at Porsche Centre Singapore. Embarking on an island-wide treasure hunt, drivers took part to win the highly coveted Grand Prize – a pair of Singapore Airlines business class tickets to the Porsche Tour Backstage in Stuttgart and Leipzig where Porsche sport cars are built.

The highly anticipated event saw a 66-car convoy, cruising around the heart of central Singapore including the Central Business District and Orchard Road, where participants had to identify landmarks and sculptures from photo clues, to answer questions related to them.

Drivers also got to test out their driving skills at a mini-driving circuit and spent a thrilling day out with fellow Porsche enthusiasts, friends and family, while contributing to the less fortunate through their participation in The Porsche Charity Rally 2015.

This charity motoring event was organised as part of the 30th anniversary of Stuttgart Auto celebrations. A total of S$29,500 was raised from sign-up fees with Mr Karsono Kwee, Executive Chairman of Eurokars Group and founder of Stuttgart Auto Pte Ltd, matching the sum, bringing the total to S$60,000.

This amount added to the S$100,000 raised at The Porsche Circuit held earlier in July. All proceeds raised through the celebratory events were channelled to Stuttgart Auto’s adopted charity, The Straits Times Pocket Money Fund, to empower disadvantaged children to shine in their schooling life.

Says Mr Kwee: “The Porsche Charity Rally 2015 is part of Porsche and Stuttgart Auto’s continuous effort to fulfil the tenets of corporate social responsibility, in giving back to the community while pursuing business excellence. The charity rally is also an opportunity for Porsche owners to get together and enjoy a day of excitement, benevolence and new meetings with fellow Porsche enthusiasts, and our commitment to continuously deliver an excellent ownership experience to all current and future Porsche owners.”
