The 911 GT3 has combined racing heritage with everyday usability since its launch in 1999.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, a new model (992.2) debuts in two versions for the first time: a track-focused sports car with a rear wing and a more understated Touring package.

Enlarged air inlet

The new 911 GT3 models present a more refined design with enhanced aerodynamics at the front and rear. They include a reconfigured front diffuser, updated spoiler lip and modified underbody fins. The redesigned Matrix LED headlights, which can come with a white accent ring, consolidate all lighting functions, allowing for a larger air inlet and a streamlined appearance. At the rear, updates include a new diffuser, air inlets and rear lid, along with redesigned angled side plates on the rear wing.

Touring can be optioned with rear seats

The 911 GT3 with the Touring package maintains the classic elegance of the 911 by eliminating the fixed rear wing. Instead, it features an extendable rear spoiler with a tear-off edge, a Gurney flap and a redesigned underbody fin. The interior, for the first time, can be optioned with a rear seat system.

1,420kg in its lightest configuration

It features a new silver aluminum wheel that reduces unsprung weight by over 1.5kg compared to the previous model. Optional magnesium wheels available with the Weissach or Leichtbau packages save an additional 9kg. A new 40Ah lithium-ion battery also contributes to the weight reduction, shedding about 4kg. In its lightest configuration, the 911 GT3 weighs only 1,420kg.

Engineered to sound epic, despite strict regulations

The 4.0-litre naturally aspirated engine is designed to meet strict exhaust standards - it’s equipped with 2 particulate filters and 4 catalytic converters. But sound is not compromised. The six-cylinder boxer engine's output of 375kW (510PS) is achieved through optimisations such as revised cylinder heads, sharper camshafts from the 911 GT3 RS for enhanced high-RPM performance, flow-optimised individual throttle valves and improved oil coolers.

PDK or manual - take your pick

Both a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (PDK) and a 6-speed manual are offered - each with an 8% shorter final drive ratio compared to the predecessor. Both transmission options are available for the standard 911 GT3 and the Touring. The PDK model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds (top speed of 311 km/h), while the manual achieves 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds (top speed of 313 km/h).

Optional bucket seat with CFRP-clad folding backrest

There’ll be an optional lightweight sports bucket seat with a folding backrest and a CFRP shell. It includes an integrated thorax airbag, electric height adjustment, manual longitudinal adjustment and an optional three-stage seat heater. The headrest padding can be partially removed for better helmet comfort during track use. The folding backrest allows access to the optional rear seat system, available for the first time in the 911 GT3 with the Touring package. Alternatively, customers can choose the Adaptive Sports Seats Plus with electric 18-way adjustment.
