No renewal on land lease for Changi Karting Circuit
Singapore's most loved competition grade karting circuit, Changi Karting Circuit (CKC), is in its twilight days as the land renewal request has fallen through. The 1,010m has been Singapore's most successful karting circuit since its opening in May this year. Boasting a main straight that stretches 165m and a back straight that stretches 145m, the circuit regularly hosts international and local races for the Singapore Karting Championship. Where KF2 race karts can hit top speeds in excess of 120kmh. CKC also houses the Singapore Karting Academy (SKA) that was set up to make motorsports accessible to the general community. SKA regularly organized sponsored programmes for youth from schools and grassroots communities to bring motorsports to the public.
CKC is currently petitioning to the public and its land owners to keep Singapore's only karting circuit that meets interntional karting competition specs open.
