What will happen to current, 3rd-generation Porsche Cayennes?

They will receive further upgrades and will continue alongside the upcoming 4th-generation, which will be fully electric. The current Cayenne underwent significant upgrades recently, and Porsche plans to continue its development with a major focus on enhancing the efficiency of its V8 powertrains, produced at the Zuffenhausen engine plant. They are aimed at ensuring compliance with future legislative standards, particularly for the twin-turbo engine.

What do we know about the 4th-generation Porsche Cayenne?

It will be built on an advanced version of the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture. This platform's flexibility allows for the integration of high-voltage systems, powertrain and chassis. The development focuses on maintaining Porsche's driving characteristics while achieving high-capacity and stable charging, high efficiency and improved comfort and everyday usability.

When will real world tests of the all-electric Porsche Cayenne start?

It is already underway, following a lengthy phase of digital development and testing, along with initial test drives at the Weissach Development Centre. The first camouflaged prototypes of the all-electric Cayenne have been released from the Porsche Factory. By the time of its launch, these prototypes will have covered several million test kilometres worldwide.
