New Mercedes-Benz CL-Class Has Arrived in Singapore! (More Photos Added!)

For one, it has 388 horses to run it and gets from 0-100 km/h in 5.4 seconds – even before you can say “Mommy I want one of those!” Plus, it definitely looks way better than a sleigh.

But back to reality, that very fast Christmas present would set you back a grand SGD$ 480,888. And that’s just the beginning – it’s a whopping SGD$ 648,888 for the CL600 and SGD$ 638,888 for the CL63 AMG.

For that price, you definitely will be getting a lot of what you paid for.

The new coupe features Mercedes-Benz’s Active Body Control (ABC), and is the second generation of the system. By introducing an army of micro-processors, sensors and servos, Mercedes claims to have reduced body roll by up to 45 percent.

All along, manufacturers who wanted minimal body roll would design the car with harder springs and stiffer chassis, together with the help of various other anti-roll components. The CL-coupe, however, has managed to balance high levels of comfort (which would usually meant softer springs and a rather bouncy ride), with an impressively sporty characteristics.

And while all that is being sorted out by the car, you get to relax and enjoy your drive home in the massaging seats. And mind you, the seats have even been approved by an independent jury representing the Aktion Gesunder Rucken (AGR), a German organisation which tests products for spine-friendly design.

Of course, you won’t be missing out on their very advanced safety systems like Pre-Safe, Brake Assist (BAS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and acceleration skid control (ASR) and also ABS.

The CL’s styling awes with its resplendence and grandeur. It features rear lights similar to those of the SLK’s and headlamps without excessive lines. Observe the rear a little more and one would be able to spot the charismatic curves on the roofline. Also adding to its stateliness is the absence of a B-pillar and large, accommodating, but not protruding, wheel arches.
