Mitsubishi ASX and Space Star are here!

Lancer is passé. The new ASX and the new Space Star are the new faces of Mitsubishi! Unveiled at the Singapore Motorshow 2017, which was held at the Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre from 12 to 15 January 2017, these two models represent the forefront of the Japanese car-maker’s impression of the future of automobiles. Unique in outlook, characteristics, personality, and performance, the only similarity that the ASX and the Space Star shared is the impressionable comfort and quality that is so distinctively Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi ASX The new ASX, which revolves around the “Dynamic Shield” design concept, is based on the Mitsubishi Outlander and Outlander PHEV models. An aggressive-looking SUV with bold chromed streaks on either side of the grille shielding the Three-Diamond mark to create a 3D suggestion of motion, the new ASX, equipped with front fog lamps and daytime running lights, has been redesigned for an improved on-road performance. Its MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspensions formed the hallmark of the new ASX’s shock-absorbing capabilities. Powered by a 2.0-litre MIVEC engine, which is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) system, Mitsubishi states that the new ASX offers improved response, handling, performance and fuel economy. Built with automatic rain sensors and automatic head lamps, the new ASX comes standard with 7 airbags – dual front airbags, dual front seat-mounted side airbags, dual side-impact curtain airbags and a driver’sknee airbag – Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EDB) and brake assist, Active Stability Control (ASC), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS) and Hill Start Assist (HSA). Mitsubishi makes the deal sweeter with a comprehensive 5 year/unlimited mileage warranty and a 10 year/200,000 kilometres (whichever comes first) engine warranty from Cycle & Carriage Automotive Pte Limited. Mitsubishi Space Star The new Space Star is like the younger sibling of the Mitsubishi Attrage. But regardless of how you perceive the hatchback, there is no denying that this latest excitement is a one bunch of fun that blends versatility and style at the same time. Designed with the new Bi-xenon High Intensity Discharge (HID) Headlamps with LED Type position lamps, the new Space Star sports a refreshed bumper design that is topped off with a dark-chromed grille. Evoking a refined-yet-sportier look, the new Space Star comes in two new distinctive body colours – Wine Red Pearl and Sunset Orange Metallic – in addition to the six existing hues (Cool Silver, Metallic Red, Medium Blue Mica, Titanium Grey, Black Mica and White Pearl). The black-themed interior of the new Space Star is equally vibrant and energised, as can be seen from its factory fitted black fabric seats, 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-wrapped shift knob. The semi high contrast meter cluster with chrome garnish adds a refined and luxurious feel to the entire set up. Featuring cruise control function, Keyless Operation System (KOS) with keyless entry and engine start button, 15-inch alloy wheels, electric folding side mirrors with integrated turn signals, automatic headlight system, automatic rain sensor-activated wipers, factory-fitted audio system and leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, the new Space Star is one zippy ride that can execute a turn at a small radius of 4.6 metres. Powered by a 1.2-litre MIVEC engine, the new Space Star’s three-cyclinder powerplant offers a nice concoction of instant power and fuel efficiency at a combined fuel consumption of 23.3 kilometres per litre. The new Space Star comes with RISE (Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution) body structure, six-SRS airbags, Anti-Lock Braking (ABS) system with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD). Similarly, it is covered with a comprehensive 5 year/unlimited mileage warranty and a 10 year/200,000 kilometres (whichever comes first) engine warranty from Cycle & Carriage Automotive Pte Limited.
