MINI Cooper 5 Door Now Available In Singapore

Priced at S$247,888, 1.5-litre turbo hatchback with 7-speed DCT good for 152hp completes the century sprint in 8 seconds flat.

MINI has announced the availability of the Cooper 5 Door. It’s a petrol-powered unit - we still have to remind ourselves that it’s the rarer drivetrain now in Singapore, as MINI’s fleet now features more EVs than petrol-powered units.

Small footprint, no space issue

Its compact design feature short overhangs, small bonnet and a long wheelbase. Its dimensions - 4,036mm in length, 1,744mm in width, and 1,464 mm in height - are similar to its predecessor. This model features a 72mm longer wheelbase and a 172mm longer body compared to the MINI Cooper 3 Door.

Standard JCW seats

The modern cockpit feature standard JCW seats upholstered in high-quality fabric. The rear interior is noticeably wider, comfortably accommodating 3 passengers. The 60:40 folding rear seats enhance functionality by increasing the luggage compartment capacity from 275 to 925 litres.

It’s all about the screen, eh?

For sure - the screen remains is focal point of the interior. The central OLED display has been repositioned closer to the driver. Equipped with MINI Operating System 9, all vehicle functions can be controlled through touch or voice commands. The slim touch display, now 240mm in diameter with a high-quality glass edge, uses an operating logic familiar to smartphone users.

A “C” spec is the one and only available variant for the petrol-powered MINI Cooper 5 Door - a 152hp 3-cylinder engine with 230Nm should make it rather sprightly. 0 to 100 km/h arrives in 8.0 seconds, up to a top speed of 225km/h.

Unlock it with your phone

The MINI Digital Key Plus turns a smartphone into a car key, allowing automatic unlocking. The front and rear lights project a welcome when the driver is within 3 metres, and the doors unlock when they are within one and a half metres. This digital key can be transferred between users, facilitating car sharing without the need to exchange a physical key.
