Say all we want about electrification - weight and range issues top the complaint charts. But we can’t deny their ability to supply whisper-quiet commutes. That’s where the superluxury segment thrives - regardless of how well engineered an engine is, motors and battery packs simply operate in silence, without fuss. About time that Mercedes-Maybach starts to electrify their range. Cue the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV…

You’ll know it’s a Maybach

There’s a "MAYBACH" lettering in a chrome strip that flows into the continuous light strip of the DIGITAL LIGHT headlights. The side bumper features the Maybach emblem, while the DIGITAL LIGHT system delivers a welcoming light show. When the doors open, a Maybach emblem is projected onto the ground, accompanied by an animated Maybach pattern that lights up the floor.

Night Series package

The Night Series package brings an elevated elegance to the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 SUV, marked by dark chrome accents and refined finishes for a sophisticated, exclusive appeal. It’ll set you back S$1,130,888 - a chunk of dough more than the “standard” spec (S$976,888).

Featuring 21-inch Maybach-patterned wheels, this package is designed for those who appreciate bold, refined details. It’s available in three striking colours: obsidian black, MANUFAKTUR opalite white bright, and a two-tone obsidian black/mojave silver finish.

Automatic doors

When the driver approaches from six metres away, the recessed door handles extend, and the driver’s door opens automatically at 1.5 metres. This welcome function can be managed through the MBUX central display. All doors can be opened or closed remotely using the MBUX system, vehicle key, or rear-seat entertainment system. The driver’s door automatically closes when the brake pedal is pressed.

Craftsmanship, amplified

The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV combines natural materials with a high-tech aesthetic. Trim options include MANUFAKTUR brown open-pore birch and walnut wood, as well as black MANUFAKTUR piano lacquer. Standard upholstery features Exclusive Nappa leather in warm espresso brown/balao brown pearl, with an optional upgrade to Maybach MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather in crystal white/silver grey pearl. All leather materials are sourced sustainably.

Elaborate massage seats

The rear lounge of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV embodies the brand's commitment to luxury and comfort. It features plush, ventilated Executive seats with custom massage functions, wood trims and projection lighting for a cocooning experience. These seats include ventilation, neck and shoulder heating, and a calf massage option. The Chauffeur Package automatically moves the front passenger seat forward when the right rear passenger reclines.

First Class on wheels

The First-Class Rear package in the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV features a front centre console that extends to the rear seats, highlighted by wooden trims for the first time. This design enhances the cocooning atmosphere and complements the wood accents on the front seat backs and between the rear seats. A projector displays the Maybach emblem on the floor. The package includes two thermal cup holders, a shelf for the MBUX rear tablet, 4 USB-C fast-charging ports and 2 HDMI ports. Optional features include two folding tables and a cooling compartment for champagne bottles, with silver-plated goblets available.

Ok, now for the specs…

It’s all-wheel drive with a total output of 484kW and a whopping 955Nm. Range is rated at a claimed 635km - that’s if you don’t get tempted to test its century sprints (4.4 seconds!). Maximum DC charging capacity is tagged at 200kW - that’ll give you a 10 - 80% charge in 31 minutes.
