What is a Mercedes-Benz EQE?

Mercedes-Benz introduces the EQE SUV, a versatile addition to its lineup that combines the essential innovations of the EQS with the dynamic edge of the EQS SUV. It’s essentially a multi-purpose variant of the EQE executive saloon. Despite being more compact than the EQE Saloon, with a length of 3,030 mm and a wheelbase 9 cm shorter, it remains one of the most spacious in its class.

What is the EQE 300 SUV’s range?

The EQE SUV employs a modular drive concept, providing a wide range of maximum total outputs (180 kW to 215 kW for standard models and 350 kW to 460 kW for AMG variants). The initial model, EQE 300, boasts a maximum output of 180 kW. With WLTP ranges of up to 565km, the vehicle's electric drivetrain is situated on the rear axle, while 4MATIC versions also include an electric drivetrain on the front axle.

Now for the fast facts

The EQE 300 Electric Art’s max DC charging capacity is 170kW (32 minutes charging time), and max for AC charging will be 22kW (less than 5 hours on a three-phase 22kW charger). Combined consumption (WLTP) is rated at 18.9 kWh/100km. Peak output is 180kW and 550Nm - good for 7.6 seconds to 100km/h from standstill. It sits five, and can swallow 520 litres worth of goods in the boot.

It's MB’s state-of-the-art vehicle, so it must boast plenty of safety tech…

The EQE SUV features Driving Assistance Plus Package as standard, displaying system status on the driver's screen. This package, part of the Premium Package, includes advanced safety features like Active Distance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Emergency Stop Assist. Evasive Steering Assist considers pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles up to 110 km/h, and PRE-SAFE PLUS offers preventive occupant protection in rear-end collisions.

U turns made simple

Thanks to rear-axle steering, the EQE will feel like a car that possesses a short wheelbase. The steering angle at the rear axle is up to ten degrees, while the turning circle is reduced from 12.3 to 10.5 metres with rear-axle steering.

It will smell good if you want it to…

The EQE SUV's active fragrance system, which is part of the optional AIR-BALANCE package, also appeals to the sense of smell. A special fragrance was composed for the new electric model: Hibiscus and lemongrass characterise No.6 MOOD hibiscus.

Engineered to be as “slippery” as possible

Numerous aerodynamic features contribute to the EQE SUV's high aerodynamic efficiency, including innovative wheel spoilers placed ahead of the front axle. These spoilers, with a notched lower edge, small apron, and longitudinal ribs, enhance the airflow to the front wheel, thanks to several carefully designed details.

It’s very quiet, but how did they achieve it?

In EVs where drive noise is minimal, occupants are more sensitive to wind noise. To enhance comfort, the EQE SUV focuses on aeroacoustic improvements, including filling body cavities with sound-absorbing foam to mitigate low-frequency noises. High-frequency wind noise is reduced through improved seals on the windscreen, exterior mirrors and attention to seals between the five side windows.
