Manual-Only Porsche 911 Carrera T Now Offered As Coupe And Cabriolet
Positioned between the Carrera and Carrera S, is this the sweet spot for purists who find the 992.2 GT3 way too hardcore?
Porsche’s new 911 Carrera T joins the 911 lineup as a lightweight, driver-focused model featuring weight-saving measures, dynamic tuning and a six-speed manual transmission. With lightweight glass, reduced insulation and optional full bucket seats, it weighs just 1,478kg - over 40kg less than the standard 911 Carrera. For the first time, the Carrera T also comes in a cabriolet version.
How much do they cost in Singapore?
Prices start at S$620,488 for the Coupe. The 911 Carrera T Cabriolet starts from S$706,788. Both prices are before options and COE.
T for Touring
The "T" in Porsche's 911 Carrera T represents "Touring," a nod to the original 911 T from 1968, produced until 1973 as a homologated touring car. Reintroduced in 2017, the Carrera T is positioned between the Carrera and Carrera S models, known for its focus on pure driving pleasure and a streamlined, essentials-only approach as a rear-wheel-drive sports car.
394PS, 450Nm
It features a 3.0-litre twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, delivering 394PS and 450Nm of torque. A six-speed manual transmission drives the rear axle with an auto-blip feature. With the Sport Chrono Package ticked, the Carrera T goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds (4.7 seconds for the Cabriolet), on to a top speed of 295 km/h (293 km/h for the Cabriolet). Upgraded brakes with 350mm discs and six-piston front calipers enhance stopping power, while reduced insulation and a sports exhaust system serve to elevate the driving experience.
Standard rear-axle steering
Porsche has equipped the 911 Carrera T with standard rear-axle steering and a more direct front steering ratio for the first time, enhancing handling, stability, and quicker lateral acceleration. This rear-axle steering is specifically tuned for the Carrera T.
#savethemanuals
The 911 Carrera T is distinguished by several unique features, including a shift pattern logo sticker on the rear windows that highlights its manual transmission. It has contrasting Vanadium Grey model designations on the rear, with matching accents on the rear grille inlays, mirror trims and machine-polished light alloy wheels. Its spoiler lip is derived from the Carrera GTS.
Open-pore walnut laminated wood gear knob
It emphasises its exclusivity as a manual sports car through various details. It features a shortened gear lever with an open-pore walnut gear knob, along with an "MT" (Manual Transmission) badge in front of the lever and a shift pattern logo on the passenger dashboard. Standard equipment includes a leather-upholstered, heated GT sports steering wheel with a mode switch, with an optional Race-Tex steering wheel. Decorative inlays in the dashboard and centre console are in Vanadium Grey, complemented by black brushed aluminum inlays on the door panels.
