Hyundai Motor Company will be commencing sales for the made-in-Singapore Ioniq 5 on Friday 31 March, where drivers will be able to purchase the car online, or at the Komoco Motors dealership. The company will also be launching a unique online sales platform available via Hyundai’s local website, with a view to create a seamless EV ownership experience for drivers here. A newly-launched IONIQ Care+ app will also be offered. That’s a ton of information to absorb for a nation not accustomed to building vehicles from scratch, only to realise that we have not even touched on arguably the most important bit yet…

Ah yes, pricing - the single most important factor that can make or break the success of almost any product. Hyundai has kept the premium offering accessible for Singapore drivers with tailored price points for COE categories A and B. It’s available in multiple colours, 2 battery options and 4 trim levels.

  • Exterior colours: Midnight Black Pearl, Titan Grey Metallic, Optic White and Magnetic Silver Metal
  • Interior colours: Black Monotone and Dark Pebble Grey
  • Battery options: Standard Range 58 kWh or the Long Range 77 kWh

4 trim options:

  • RWD Standard Range ‘Exclusive Trim Model’ (Cat A COE), S$189,800 with COE
  • RWD Standard Range ‘Prestige Trim Model’ (Cat A COE), S$199,800 with COE
  • RWD Long Range ‘Prestige Trim Model’ (Cat B COE), S$226,800 with COE
  • AWD Long Range ‘Inspiration Trim Model’ (Cat B COE), S$266,800 with COE

For the standard range, Cat A-friendly 58kWh model, its battery musters a maximum of 107kW / 350Nm, allowing it to complete the century sprint in 9.5 seconds. Range is rated at 384km (WLTP). Sitting in the middle of the pile is the long range, rear-wheel drive variant powered by a battery that churns out an optimal 168kW / 350Nm. It sprints to 100km/h from scratch in 7.3 seconds, and has a range of 507km (WLTP). The most pricey Ioniq 5 sends a max power of 239kW / 605Nm to all four wheels with its 77 kWh battery pack, and can reach 100km/h in a sliver over 5 seconds. Due to its performance, range is slightly compromised, rated at 454km (WLTP).

19-inch alloy wheels will come with the Exclusive and Prestige trim. Fully decked-out Inspiration trim will receive parametric pixel headlamp and rear lights, along with 20-inch alloy wheels.

Internal vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability (3-pin socket under the middle row seat) is only available on Prestige and Inspiration trims, and while all specs allow external V2L, an optional additional adaptor is required to make your glamping dreams a reality.

All potential car buyers will be able to customise, order and apply for financing of their cars on the online customer purchase platform. Buyers will be able to enjoy quick payment modes via PayNow – a first-of-its-kind option for Singapore drivers here.
