The 4WD drivetrain is an ‘on demand’ system that delivers 100% of engine torque to the front wheels during all routine city and highway driving. Whenever a front wheel loses grip, a percentage of torque (up to 50%) is automatically transferred to the rear wheels. In severely slippery conditions the driver can select ‘Lock Mode” which delivers 50% of torque to both the front and rear axles.

Other than the addition of a diesel engine variant, the Sportage has been updated with several new features. Pure black leather upholstery now envelopes the occupants as they step into the spacious vehicle. It also enhances the car’s luxurious feel.

New amenities such as ventilated driver’s seat keep the driver cool in warm climates while driving, adjustable electric side mirrors with heating help to defog the mirrors during rainy weather, enabling better visibility on the road, as well as, an electrochromic mirror (ECM) with rear view camera aids the driver during reversing manoeuvres have also been added.
