Lexus teams up with CDC

Lexus Singapore has teamed up with the North West Community Development Council! The partnership will see the dealer provide utility assistance for up to 200 needy families within the North West district. The project was initiated by Lexus Singapore themselves in celebration of the upcoming World Environment Day, which will fall on the 5th of June. Lexus sold 400 hybrid vehicles in 2015, which saved a combined total of SGD$100,000 on fuel costs. The automaker will donate half that figure to the CDC, which will then use it to help pay for the electricity bills of households who face imminent disconnection.   The funds will go towards helping those who are Singaporean or Singapore PRs, drawing an monthly salary of less than SGD$1,900. This isn’t just a PR stunt; the company is genuine about helping others and the environment, with ambitious environmental goals set for 2050. Current Lexus cars have been manufactured with the end-of-life in mind, with the vast majority of components either reusuable or recyclable.
