In a statement release by LTA, this was based on three components of the COE quota.
- A 0.25 percent per annum growth, based on the population of vehicles as at the end of last year.
- Replacement COEs from vehicles which have been deregistered from the period of July to September this year.
- The replacing of commercial vehicles under the Early Turnover Scheme, changes in the taxi population and lastly, expired COEs.
LTA also mentioned that there will be another quota announcement for the bidding period of February to April 2017 in the month of January.
