At the launch event held at the picturesque FOC Sentosa, pyrotechnics announced the arrival of the C-HR, as Borneo Motors Managing Director, Jasmmine Wong, and Marketing Director, Samuel Yong, drove the C-HR across the beachfront. Guests got a chance to explore the Toyota C-HR Experience room, where they got to understand the development and design philosophy of the C-HR.

Test drives were happening from start to end of the event, all of which was being livestreamed to the main event ground and Facebook. Even television personality, Michelle Chong got into the action. Test drives even extended to the virtual realm. The specially created C-HR Virtual Reality Test Drive that simulated a drive around Sentosa, was a big hit with the crowd.

The “Diamond Hunt” lucky draw contest was also announced at the launch. From now till 28 February, customers who purchase a C-HR from Borneo Motors stand a chance of winning a 1.2 carat diamond. The 1.2 carat diamond reflects the 1.2L turbocharged engine, quality and distinctive diamond-cut styling of the C-HR.

While its unmistakably sporty and masculine looks set it apart from other cars in the Toyota range and its segment, its extensive standard features and attractive price point will appeal to younger crowds in particular.

“Those looking to assert their individuality on the roads, but still appreciate the convenience and practicality of a range of exciting technology will find their match in the C-HR,” said ,

As standard, the C-HR is equipped with advanced safety technologies and in-demand features such as a blind-spot monitor, alloy wheels and dual-zone automatic air-conditioning. “With its coupe-like silhouette and distinguishably stylish looks, punchy turbo petrol engine and advanced cabin quality, the C-HR is serious about delivering a truly exhilarating driving experience to Singaporeans.”

Marketing Director of Borneo Motors.

What you can look forward to with the new C-HR:
  • Being built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform, the C-HR not only has a solid foundation of high performance components, but also a greater emphasized personality and styling that is sure to stand out on the road.
  • Features a 1.2 litre turbocharged engine, offering a maximum power of 114 bhp, with peak torque at 185 Nm. All while maintaining an excellent fuel economy with a combined cycle of 6.4 litres/100km and CO2 emissions of 144 g/km.
  • Drive better and safer with Toyota Safety Sense P package, including technologies like Lane Departure Alert, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Adaptive High-beam System, and Pre-collision System.

The Toyota C-HR’s ‘diamond architecture’ themed exterior adopts the seamless integration of sharp lines and smooth curves that give the C-HR its unique gemstone-like design.

From its lower body, raised ground clearance and muscular wheel arches; every element showcases the SUV’s strength and rigidity. This is further enhanced by disguised rear door handles integrated within the C-pillar and the powerful projection of the sweeping roofline into a large, highly aerodynamic, skeletal-frame rear spoiler.

Its distinctive taillight clusters further add to its prominent visual signature on the roads. At the back, its tapered cabin design and top-hinged tailgate allows for access to up to 316-litres of luggage space.

DIAMOND-LIKE DESIGN MEETS SPORTY CITY STYLING

In line with Sensual Tech, the new styling direction from Toyota, the C-HR exudes the hippest of designs in a functional interior that always keeps the driver in mind.

Offering plenty of space, its expansive cabin is unequivocally welcoming. Soft-touch materials on its upper door trim, arm rests and dashboard add to its premium quality. Similarly too, a leatherwrapped steering wheel and gear knob provide additional comfort while a silver satin finish on the knob exudes a premium look and feel.

Convenience is also always within reach. Major controls and switchgear are oriented towards the driver. Similarly too, its 4.2-inch display audio touch-screen brings satellite navigation* and connected mobility functions to the C-HR. The C‐HR is equipped with a standard 12V/120W auxiliary power outlet within the 4.2-litre centre console storage compartment.

As the touch-screen extends from the instrument panel, rather than being enclosed by it, this allows for a lower upper dashboard and better positioning of the thin windscreen pillars which add to driver visibility.

PREMIUM COMFORT MEETS FUNCTIONALITY WITHIN

Apart from its highly rigid chassis and body structure, the C-HR is also fitted with 7-airbags as standard, 8 parking sensors and a range of features that keep you secure wherever you go.

The new C-HR is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense P package, which has a variety of useful features and advanced technology to keep drivers and passengers safe. These include systems like Lane Departure Alert (LDA) which uses the camera on the windscreen to track the vehicle’s course between lane markings on the road surface. If it judges that the C-HR is about to move out of its lane without the turn indicator being used, the system sounds a buzzer and lights up a warning on the multi-information display. Other technologies including Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam (AHB), and Pre-collision System, make the C-HR an incredibly secure package.

Also of note, the Blind-Spot Monitor (BSM) uses radar sensors mounted on the rear corners of the vehicle to detect nearby vehicles as they move into the driver's blind spot. The driver is alerted to their presence by LED warning indicators in the door mirror on the appropriate side of the car.

ADVANCED SAFETY FEATURES FOR GREATER PEACE OF MIND

The C-HR adopts human-focused technology in creating convenient and accessible features that make every journey one to look forward to.

For one, the NanoE™ air purification systems developed in collaboration with Panasonic is a much welcome addition in this humid climate. This clever system moisturises the cabin air and neutralises odours, bacteria and allergens, while remaining gentle on occupants’ skin and hair thanks to the dispersal of microscopic ions into the cabin.

Its Multi Information Display too can be easily controlled by switches on the steering wheels and even configured to display relevant information through and intuitive menu. Optional settings including audio and phone call controls, along with safety systems, can be controlled seamlessly.

Along with special TNGA-based front seats, auto dimming electro-chromatic rear-view mirrors, convenient storage spaces and more, its wide range of technology proves that the CH-R is not just about good looks.

STATE-OF-THE-ART TECHNOLOGY AND COMFORT FOCUSED ON YOU

The Toyota C-HR is at the forefront of allowing owners to express their individuality and personality on the road. Owners can choose from a base range of 8 colours. Each colour also has an alternative roof option of either black or white*, except Yellow which comes in both finishes. This increases the number of available colour combinations to 17.

SHOWCASING YOUR INDIVIDUALITY IN STYLE

There are official Toyota TRD accessories, such as body kits, and spoilers, that can also be fitted for that extra customizability.
