Singapore (6 October 2017) – The Nissan X-Trail, one of the world’s most popular SUVs, has been updated for Singapore for 2018.

As well as enhancements to its exterior and interior styling, the X-Trail also boasts a range of new advanced technologies, designed to make driving smarter, safer and more exciting.

“The Nissan X-Trail is the ideal family adventure crossover,” said Mr Yutaka Sanada, Regional Senior Vice President and Head of Nissan in the Asia and Oceania region.

“Globally, the X-Trail is one of Nissan’s best-selling models, its popularity driven by its go-anywhere capabilities as well as the availability of Nissan’s latest Intelligent Mobility technologies.”

“The 2018 Nissan X-Trail with new Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies will appeal to drivers looking for more versatility to fit their active lifestyles. Together with the newly launched 2018 Nissan Qashqai, we believe the Nissan crossovers will continue its success in the SUV segment,” said Mr Glenn Tan, Managing Director of Tan Chong International Limited.

In addition to its new Intelligent Mobility technologies and enhanced interior and exterior styling, many of the X-Trail’s stand out features continue with this upgraded model. For example, the X-Trail ensures exceptional passenger comfort and space in the second row, along with simple and convenient access to the third row.

The Motion Activated Tailgate is now enhanced to offer a new level of hands-free convenience. Customers operate the feature by simply sliding their foot under the rear bumper, allowing the rear door to open and close automatically.

The new X-Trail 2.0L is priced with COE at $129,800.

Refined exterior for 2018

  • New front fascia with signature “V-motion” grille and new Nissan badge
  • LED headlamps with boomerang signature daytime running lights and Adaptive Front Lighting System
  • Redesigned rear styling and revised bumper and revised LED boomerang tail lights
  • 19-inch alloy wheels as standard  New shark fin roof-mounted antenna
  • Four new colours – Corona Orange, Garnet Red, Shining Blue, and Imperial Umber

The new X-Trail offers an updated exterior design which includes a new front fascia with Nissan signature “V-Motion” grille and revised headlights with LED signature daytime running lights. Together, they enhance the X-Trail’s robust, dynamic presence. At the rear, a new bumper with chrome detailing has been added. The rear lamps have been upgraded, featuring LED tail lights in Nissan’s boomerang design signature. A notable change to the profile of the new X-Trail is the addition of chrome-trim side-door moldings, which complete the freshened appearance. New 19-inch alloy wheels are now also fitted as standard.

The X-Trail now comes in four vibrant new colours – Corona Orange, Garnet Red, Shining Blue, and Imperial Umber.

The upgrades have resulted in a slight increase of 50 millimetres in the overall length of the car – making it now 4,690mm from bumper to bumper.

Premium new interior

  • D-shaped multi-functional steering wheel with four-way controller
  • Leather knee pad, centre armrest and dashboard
  • Gloss black trim with metallic accents

Among the interior enhancements found in the 2018 X-Trail is a striking new D-shaped steering wheel. The D-shaped wheel’s horizontal base means easier entry and exit for the driver and also provides a sportier look and feel. The steering wheel’s compact central hub is smaller and the three spokes are slimmer, creating a larger space for greater instrument visibility. The four-way controllers for the combimeter display (left spoke) and cruise control (right spoke) are new, and offer customers more intuitive use and reduced ‘eyes off the road’ time.

The steering wheel’s rim has been widened – from 34mm to 37.5mm – for a more comfortable grip. A new premium style comes from the satin silver detailing on the central spoke which echoes the shape of the car’s iconic ‘V-motion’ front grille. Other cabin upgrades include a new leather knee pad on both sides of the centre console and centre armrest, while the area above the glovebox has been given a more contemporary finish. The air vents now feature a new gloss black surface. The new X-Trail continues to offer exceptional space and comfort, including plenty of knee room in the second row of seats. It has clever storage solutions and practical features, such as the sliding / reclining function of the second-row seats while the access to the roomy third row is simple and convenient. The new hands-free motion-activated tailgate also ensures a new level of convenience. Nissan Intelligent Mobility: Advanced safety and technologies

Nissan is committed to making transportation smarter, safer and more enjoyable. The company’s roadmap to achieving this is Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Nissan Intelligent Mobility guides the company’s three core areas of product innovation:

  • Intelligent Power – how cars of the future will be powered
  • Intelligent Driving – how customers will use their cars
  • Intelligent Integration – how cars will integrate with our societies

The goal of Intelligent Mobility is to make Nissan customers feel more confident, excited and connected, while also enhancing road safety. The X-Trail includes a number of Nissan’s advanced Intelligent Mobility technology features. These technologies are listed and detailed below.

  • Intelligent Emergency Braking
  • Intelligent Auto Headlights with new Adaptive Front Lighting System
  • Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection

The Intelligent Emergency Braking helps to avoid or mitigate collisions using a combination of forwardfacing radar and a camera.

The Intelligent Auto Headlights with new Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) comes with dynamic cornering lamps, operating in conjunction with the vehicle’s speed and steering inputs to allow greater illumination of a corner’s apex for better visibility and road safety. On high beam, the beam pattern is now wider than before, also improving visibility.

The Intelligent Around View Monitor has been on the X-Trail since 2014, but has now been upgraded with Moving Object Detection. This innovative technology detects moving objects around the vehicle, and can give the driver a visual and audible alert.

The X-Trail is also offered with numerous other NIM technologies including Intelligent 4x4, Intelligent Trace Control, Intelligent Engine Brake and Intelligent Ride Control.
