Kia Asia Pacific concluded a successful 2024 Kia EV Day in Taiwan, following the success of a global edition in 2023. The event showcased Kia’s latest electric lineup, featuring the Asia Pacific debut of the Kia EV3, which will launch in select markets in 2025, along with the Concept PV5 and the futuristic Concept EV4.

Will it be an EV9, downsized?

The event spotlighted the Kia EV3, a compact EV SUV that incorporates the advanced technology of Kia's flagship EV9. Positioned as an entry-level model, the EV3 aims to set new standards in the compact EV SUV segment, addressing the growing demand for accessible EVs.

Deliveries to start from 2025

There’s no timeline on local sales yet, but EV3 will make its way to customers’ homes from 2025 onwards, in selected Asia Pacific markets.

EV4, PV5 concepts revealed

The Concept EV4, rooted in Kia’s "Opposites United" design philosophy is a sleek, driver-centric EV sedan with modern luxury and a spacious design.

The Concept PV5, Kia's first "Platform Beyond Vehicle" (PBV), is a versatile commercial load lugger with customisable solution for uses like ride-hailing, logistics and lifestyle activities. It’s engineered for multipurpose adaptability, emphasising spaciousness and cutting-edge software integration.

Target: annual sales of 1.6 million EVs by 2030

Alongside new model reveals, Kia outlined its plan for its EV lineup at various price points, supported by an expanded range of Hybrid EVs, PBVs and internal combustion engine options for emerging markets. By 2025, Kia aims to stabilise EV production and battery supply with six global EV production bases. Kia’s goal is to sell 1.6 million EVs annually by 2030.
